Muruganantham says to poor women, "Have a Happy Period"

Muruganantham has invented low cost sanitary napkin machine. His invention is not an ordinary one. His machine cost is less than one lakh whereas the existing machine cost is more than 3 crore. He has received the best innovation award from our president, Prathibha Patil.

Muruganantham's machine produces alternative to Stayfree, Whisper, Kotex and etc. His machine used in around 20 states in India and more than 5 countries in worldwide.

Muruganantham did not complete his schooling. He was school dropout. But he delivered guest lecture in Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and Indian Institute of Management (IIM).

In his speech, he has said that, "During my research days, people including my mother, wife and sisters thought that I am mental. I received divorce notice from my wife."

Muruganantham does not sell his machine to everyone. He sells only to women Self Help Group (SHG). He allows SHG to manufacture napkin and he ensure napkins are available for poor women.
